Supermerc’art

Eugènia Balcells

01/06/76. (Sala 051)

Eugènia Balcells raises criticism of the world of consumption in this piece entitled SupermercART.

This large composition mounted along the walls of the room displays small serialized objects and also images arranged alphabetically inside long transparent plastic bags.

Balcells uses an aesthetic linked to accumulation and codification, two habitual operations in those years by the artist and which have to do with the very essence of consumption.

During the exhibition the public could purchase these objects strips.
