“MODERN ICONOGRAPHY”.

Photomontages by America Sanchez.

Selection of 16 works, large color photographic enlargements, retouched with oil and other techniques.

“When I discovered that photomontage was part of the designer’s craft, I started doing it, without any rules or direction”, comments America Sanchez.

One of the most significant aspects of this process has been, for the author, to understand the images and the classification of things, beginning to observe in a different way, generating new and different visual registers, broadening his taste. In short, to put in order the world of iconography, symbols and optical language that he knew by instinct and that with this practice he managed to rationalize.

Large works of art placed in La Sala a little high and leaning forward, “as the mirrors in Arab hairdressers”, says America Sanchez.
