GREAT COSTANZA – Paolo Rizzatto’s Costanza turns 20 years old and becomes BIG. An icon of design, it has gone through different styles and epochs, remaining unchanged over time, always appropriate, contemporary, elegant. In 1986 Paolo Rizzato’s project revolutionized the world of lighting.

The traditional “abat-jour” typology, which until then had a heavy, immovable base and a fabric or glass shade, was reinvented with renewed materials: a simple polycarbonate shade, a subtle aluminum foot and a sensory dimmer with a rod contributed to the formal reduction of the lighting archetype, to the realization of a new and balanced lightness.

The worldwide success of the lamp is determined by the oscillation between tradition and technology and by the extraordinary ability to diffuse a warm, intimate and enveloping light. Over the years Costanza has been used in countless projects signed by notable architects. Costanza is also the lamp that illuminates countless private homes around the world, fitting naturally into any decor, from the most modern to the most traditional style.

To celebrate its immeasurable success, Luceplan now proposes new proportions capable of explaining the grandeur. The same materials and the same technology, unmistakable signs of an avant-garde project. Grande Costanza makes a presence as visible as light, able to decorate spaces with its simple but at the same time rigorous appearance. The light of the lampshade is always pleasant, intense and domestic, suitable to illuminate private as well as public environments.
