FoodWork. Edible products designed by Martí Guixé.

We feed and nourish ourselves with edible matter as well as with information and data, this energetic matter (both are vital) is assimilated by the body and keeps us alive physically and intellectually.

FoodWork brings the everyday world (eating, food and nutrition) to the world of technology, information and communication, that is, to the contemporary world. Among the pieces presented we find:

T-cake/G-power is a second-generation IBM printer piece made with natural edible material. The shape is a reference to the new nature.

i-cake is a cake in which its outer shape clearly indicates its content through a statistical graphic representation of “cake”. The decoration becomes information.

Automátic Spamt FactorY, is a system that incites the viewer to Spamt altruistically for himself and for the rest of the public. The individual is part of the political-economic system.

In short, FoodWork is information elaborated and prepared to eat, so… Bon appetit!

Martí Guixé (1964) Trained in Barcelona and Milan as an interior and industrial designer, he has collaborated with renowned studios around Europe.

Since 1994 and coinciding with stays as a consultant in Seoul (Korea), he has been developing in Berlin a new way of understanding the design product, which he summarizes in a formula.

His work is characterized by the search for new product systems, the introduction of design in the field of food and presentation through performance. His unconventional gaze provides ideas of brilliant simplicity and curious seriousness.

He currently works in Barcelona and Berlin as Techno-gas trosof, tapaist and designer.
