Next… three microfilms, three immortal stories of cartoons. Three adventures of journeys through cinema, good humor and intelligence. El Bueno de Cutlas. With a Hundred Guns for a Band. Project X. During the robbery of the bank of a small town in the Far West, the dangerous bandit “Jak the Evil” and his gang murder the sheriff Ben, the bank manager and the teller Mabel, girlfriend of “El Bueno de Cutlas”. Cutlas will chase his enemy Jak throughout the far West and, after many adventures, in a thrilling duel, Cutlas will put an end to the bandit’s rampages.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The chapter begins with epic seafaring images accompanied by Espronceda’s poem: “With a hundred cannons on each side, full sail astern, not cutting the sea but flying, a brigantine sailing ship”, in a sort of period video-clip. On deck, haughty, we see the famous buccaneer Cutlas whose pirate ship intercepts a Spanish sailing ship laden with riches. During the boarding, Cutlas finds and kidnaps the beautiful daughter of a Spanish viceroy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mercury, the smallest planet in the solar system, is about to self-destruct due to overpopulation. The entire surface of the planet is occupied by a mega-city; buildings, illuminated signs, aero-vehicles, machines, occupy everything. It is the metaphor of a civilization that has not been able to assimilate its own technological advances.<\/p>\n
